Live Event Presentation for Wilson

“Look, we are having this big live event, but our presentation is far from good.

We know that. Can you help us design it better, so our audience really appreciate it?

Context

This was the first project among many presentations for Wilson. They wanted our help designing a presentation for a big live event in 2019. They were looking for visually exciting slides that would make sense for a large stage. We had to improve and simplify the content, so that the audience could easily understand the story and not get lost
in the data.

A “good” red

Wilson’s main brand color is red. We saw that the draft used the color red to indicate bad or critical metrics, while green showed the good ones. This usually makes sense, but not when your brand color is red.

The first piece of advice we gave, even before starting the project, was that the brand color should not be associated with bad metrics.

Design theme

The Wilson team was open to a new design, but we had to align it with brand guidelines. We started by offering a few options for design themes based on several slides. This helped to define the overall look of the presentation.

Slide format

The big screen on the stage had a wide 16:6 format, so the standard 16:9 slide format wasn’t a good solution.  We created slides in a new format, developed layouts and changed the photos and videos.

Communication design approach

We mixed highly visual slides and wide-screen images with a clean, dark background approach for slides with more content.

Bring more clarity

We went through the content with the Wilson team to make it clearer and more structured for the audience, and to ensure that we focused the viewers’ attention on key points and messages.
